St. Joseph Shrine Parish at 8743 US-12, Brooklyn, MI 49230 US - Children's Liturgy of the Word

We have a Children's Liturgy of the Word year-round (with a few exceptions) at our last Mass of Sunday - 11:00 am Mass from the Sunday after Labor Day until the Sunday before Memorial Day; it then switches to 10:00 am in the summer months from Memorial Day to Labor Day weekend.  The children leave the assembly after the Opening Prayer and go to another room with a Liturgical Minister.  They hear the readings proclaimed from a Children's Lectionary so it is easier for them to understand and then the leader leads them in a discussion about how the readings relate to them in their lives.  They have their own Creed and pray for their intentions.  They join the rest of the assembly during the Preparation of the Gifts and remain until the end of Mass.
